So, let’s discover you niche! When discovering your niche there are a couple of things you need to do. The first thing you need to do is called soul searching or self-discovery. Next you will to ask yourself some questions and finally find your purpose. Hint hint…if you do the self-discovery and the questioning of self, the purpose and why will naturally appear. That will be the driving force of your blog?
As a blogger you should have a clear and distinct idea of who you are and who you want to be as a blogger. If this is a little hazy, that’s okay. I would suggest taking some time to get to know yourself. Discover your traits inside and out! Find and explore things you like or think you may like. Spend some time alone with your own thoughts and a journal. Journaling is great tool to help one discover his or herself.
Once you’ve decided on who you are, now is the time to ask yourself some questions. Take a in depth look at your life and ask yourself what’s my story and how can I present that story. Once you are able to clearly state who you are and your story, the rest is easy. It is easy because only you are an expert at your life and how you want to show it to others. That’s where your niche comes into play. For example, my niche has to do be a single woman and doing different things on her own and help other single ladies do the same. I found this out almost two years of having a blog, so don’t worry if you don’t know your niche right away. I only found this out by taking a deeper look at who I am and my life. I was able to say this is my life and I have an expertise in this area because I lived it for so long. Surely I can help others!
Finding your niche can be an exhilarating ride because it’s all about getting to know yourself better! We all need to get to know ourselves a little better with everything that is going on in the world today! Remember when you find your niche, you will find your purpose and that will make blogging so much easier. The purpose is the driving force behind your blog. It will give your blog direction and you will know what to blog about and why you are blogging about a particular topic.
Some Questions to Ask Yourself When Finding Your Niche:
- What are you passions?
- What are you good at?
- What problem can you solve?
- Who is your dream client?
- Who is it that you want to help?
- Why do you want to help?
- How can you help them?
