Summer Morning Skincare Routine

In the morning my summer skincare routine is fairly simple. I follow a three step process from Clinique. The reason I love this routine is because it is simple. I love how the bottles are marked with numbers. If you look at the back of each bottle, it tells you whether you’re at step one, two or three. This makes it easy to follow if you aren’t sure what’s the next step. I purchased the extra big bottles so it would last a while. So far this routine has been working for me. I rarely have skin issues, so I don’t do much to my face. Every now and then I will do a face mask or microdermabrasion cleanser, but that’s about it. Pretty simple right?

Step One: Cleanse

Clinique’s Liquid Facial Soap in mild works great for skin. It’s a mild formula so it’s not too harsh and drying. My skin feels supple after using it and a little goes a long way. One of my favorite qualities about this cleanser is the light to no scent. When products have a heavy scent it makes me think artificial and that’s not what we want for our skin.

Step Two: Tone/Exfoliate

Clinique’s Clarifying Lotion (twice a day exfoliator) is my favorite step of the entire line. This step is my favorite because it’s almost a two in one product. This is comparable to a toner and it is used in the same manner, but get this…it exfoliates as well. This is the one step I never forget, especially if I am applying makeup. It just makes your skin feel and look smooth.

Step Three: Moisturize

I use Clinique’s Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly (anti-pollution) for my moisturizer. When I apply my moisturizer, I don’t like to use heavy creams. I feel like they don’t absorb into my skin well enough or quick enough. Plus it’s summer I don’t want to feel and look greasy. I have been using jellies for almost the two years and my opinion they are the best. So when I saw this I was I sold. This formula is light weight water jelly and it’s absorbs quickly into skin. It doesn’t feel sticky at all or like someone has left a film over my face. It’s just perfect. It says it works best for Oily/Combination skin, but I love it and my skin is in the normal category.

Extra Step:

As an extra, I have been using Clinique’s All About Eyes. I received a sample of this with my purchase. It’s supposed to reduce dark circles and puffiness. I put it on every morning to help awakening and brighten my look. A little goes a very long way. So don’t be heavy handed. I have been using every morning for about a month and it helps to make me look awake in the morning. I stay up late at night watching TV, so this is a big help!

What does your Summer Skincare Routine look like? Do you have any recommendations?

Love,
